Tonight we'll be doing some beginning-of-the-term housekeeping. Please be sure to be in class.
What we'll cover:
* We'll make a master list of your blogs/blog addresses.
* We'll finalize a presentation schedule.
* We'll be pairing up for our first week of blog partnerships.
* And we'll be taking a look at all your blogs so far.
Also, we'll have a brief discussion about the value of blogging for writers of all genres. We read this piece by Towles Kintz from Brevity's Craft Essays section and discuss it.
Assignment for the coming week:
* Maintain your blog. Please be sure to post every day, around the same time if possible. Saturday and Sunday can be your off days. By next class, you should have five new blog posts.
* Maintain your blog partnership. In addition to posting on your own blog every day, please read your partner's blog and comment on it daily. Your partner will do the same for you. We'll switch partners each week to keep things fresh.
* Add two blogs to your blog roll. These should be blogs that deal with subjects similar to yours. Try to post a comment or two on each blog to begin to build your blog community.
* Begin reading the blog you'll be doing your presentation on. You should become an expert on this blog. Be sure to add the blog to your own blog roll.
